Puppy’s last chance – SB 460
courtesy of ~ NCVAWSB 460, aka the “puppy mill bill”, will go before the House Finance Committee on July 1, 2010 at 8:30 am in room 544. This bill or parts of it will be added to HB (SB) 1332, the neuter / spay bill which is already funded. Both the opposition and supporters of SB 460 are expected to show in full force.
There are over 200 commercial breeders in North Carolina which will be regulated by passage of SB 460. The bill is designed to ensure that breeders provide safe and humane care and living conditions in their kennels. SB 460 is the voice of the dogs that are forced to endure less than best breeding operations.
This bill is down to its 11th hour and the time for action is running out. Each person who takes action or goes to Raleigh will increase the chances of seeing the puppy mill bill passed into law. Visit aspca/NC and urge your state representatives to support this animal protection bill. Email or call your representatives and remind them how vital it is to get this bill passed this year.
