Before you can actually use this product you first must accustom your pet to the PediPaws. Unless he or she is in a coma, your pet will absolutely despise the sound and vibration of it. Don’t let that deter you! As the caring, dedicated pet owner that you are, you will persevere!
After one very long week, I learned that Sophie the dog is more patient than stubborn, and grudgingly learned to “put up” with the tool. However, Fuzzy the cat refused to do the same–he saw no need to suffer fools gladly.
The experience revealed two major drawbacks with the PediPaws: It files the nail in miniscule amounts at a time and can only be used in bursts of 7 seconds or so. (If used longer, the heat generated through friction could injure your pet.) If your dog’s nails are overlong, this project could take you days—maybe weeks. Even if the nails were recently trimmed, you will have to constantly file them to maintain that length.
If you and your pet are extraordinarily patient, you would probably not even worry about purchasing this product, but you might enjoy the challenge of using it nonetheless. If you find it hard to resist a new gadget or power tool, I recommend buying the complete Dremel Drill Tool Set. That way, when you abandon using it to file nails, you will be able to find less dubious uses for it.
As for myself, I intend to keep it and, during evenings while watching TV, I will file my own nails. It is my hope that its sound, vibration and heat will remind me to never again purchase anything that is: “As Seen On TV.”
I was excited when my pedipaws arrived, my dog hates having her nails trimmed and keeping her still is a chore. I acclimated my dog just like the instructions say, and she did okay but the pedipaws didnt. It’s basically a grinder so you would think its easy, but the thing only has one speed, a safety guard that blocks your view, and is bulky and awkward. I managed to grind down my dogs nails, but not smoothe them well. I do not expect everyone to have the same experience that I have, but I still would not reccomend this product.

After looking around for an auto feeder it seemed like they all had some issue, but this had mostly positive reviews so I figured I’d give it a try. I bought two so each of my cats could have one. Unfortunately one of them did not work upon arrival so I sent it back and had a new one sent within a week. A few things to point out based on other reviewers problems.
1. Programming is quite easy if you just follow the instructions, it took me about 2 minutes to have it set up and ready to go.
2. If you attach the container and lid on properly your cat will not be able to get into it.
3. It will only take a day or two for your cat to realize if it sticks its arm up the food chute it can get a piece or two out but it’s probably more of a hassle than your cat will want to deal with after a few tries.
4. If you are using normal dry cat food (which is smaller than the 1/2″ recommended size on the instructions) the portion control isn’t very accurate. I found I had to just set it 1/4 cup smaller than I actually wanted them to have.
Once you figure out a few of the quirks of this product it will work without problems. Both of mine have made my life much easier since the cats know I don’t control their food anymore than just sit around until they hear the food being portioned out by the auto feeder.
The product description on amazon.com does not include the description on the box, which says pet food needs to be at least 1/2″ in diameter… so when I tried the machine out, it fed WAY MORE food than required when using the classic, small pellet cat food (~1/4″ diameter). The box photos are misleading… the feeder is filled with small cat food pellets! And you can only get down to 1/4 cup per meal… which means most average size cats could only get 2 meals per day, not more frequently like the box advertises.
If I had a dog, this feeder would be great. But I have a cat…

I recently bought this bed for my 160 lb Alaskan Malamute, (she is a big girl) She loves the bed, however the center doesn’t have a lot of padding. I had a smaller bed that I placed underneath and she is very happy with it. The larger the dog the harder the floor is on their ribs, she sleeps all night now, as before she spent the night trying to fluff up the carpet waking us up. 5/08 Well, the bed didn’t hold up so well, the border has holes in it where it has come unsewn, it won’t last a year. SORRY.
Not the size advertised. While it’s supposed to be 21 x 31, it’s actually more like 18 x 28. I don’t know, maybe if it was flat?
Anyway, I have a 20 x 32 floor in the kennel I have, and it’s pretty short all the way around, especially the length.
Well made and cozy though.

The ERGO automatic filtered pet waterer is the best waterer I have ever purchased. The previous waterer was a Drinkwell Big Dog Waterer. It did not have the capacity the ERGO waterer has which is a big benefit considering I have two labrador retrievers. The ERGO waterer has a prefilter which keeps debris out of the pump. I have owned this waterer for almost a year and am still very satisfied with it. It is very easy to keep clean, much easier than the previous waterer. The pump is adjustable and has lasted longer than the one in the Drinkwell waterer. The only thing is the manual does not tell you to put water in the well were the filter is located. By doing this, the pump is primed much faster, ensuring the water circulates well. A small item compared to all the benefits of this waterer.
